Lucy

ADOPTED!!

Lucy is a beautiful brown and white Newfoundland. She came from a puppy mill so she has a quirky behavior of only wanting to eat with her bowl being outside in all kinds of weather. She is extremely loving, on her own terms but has come a long way in foster care. We still won't trust her alone with small animals but she no longer shows much interest in them allowing the chickens to eat out of her bowl with her.

If your interested in Lucy, please let us know. She is being fostered in Indianapolis, IN.

Wow, time flies when your busy and Maddie has been a busy little girl! She had a blast at the Newfoundland National the first week in May and made a lot of new friends in Frankenmuth, MI. She also thoroughly enjoyed herself at SCNR's first ever Newf A Rama, never meeting a stranger.

Therapy and Massage… double the attention!

4/9/2013

Maddie had an excellent session with Jocelyn this morning and she was joined by Julie who is also a Massage Therapist! She had double the attention and loved every minute of it! She also was fitted with a boot to work at getting her better traction on her left foot which seems to give her problems. It went extremely well, as did the climbing on the bench FIVE times!!! Whew! THAT was a lot of work but then Jocelyn had her hold herself there, with front feet on the floor and rear feet tucked up under her without tilting either direction. That took at lot of strength and was a great exercise.

Maddie is progressing with therapy!

Its been a busy couple of months for our Maddie. She has made some great progress, as Jocelyn worked with her and made some changes. Along with the Myofascial Release therapy, Jocelyn also did Electric Muscle Stimulation, working to get the top side muscles to contract, to help the tied down rear muscles to release. It's worked wonderfully as Maddie’s range of motion in both legs is now normal.

He's ready to go! He is doing well with his recovery, and will benefit from regular walks and some massage therapy on his leg, but he's an awesome boy! He LOVES kids, gets along great with cats and other dogs. He sounds the alarm with new people but once he is introduced, he is very trusting and loving.
